Hometown Hero Rebecca Wiasak Wins Two National Capital Tour Stages

Hometown hero Rebecca Wiasak (High5 Dream Team) has won both stages on the final day of the National Capital Tour, while Ruth Corset extended her Subaru National Road Series lead by winning the yellow jersey. Wiasak demonstrated her track world champion abilities by attacking just before the final stretch in both the 75.9 kilometre road race and the 30-lap criterium, raising her hands aloft as she crossed the finish line in each. Victorian Kate Perry has soloed to victory on Stage 2 of the 2015 Amy’s Otway Tour, part of the the Cycling Australia Subaru National Road Series, beating home Miranda Griffiths (VIC) by 1 minute 28 seconds. Tour winner Georgia Baker (Tas) finished third on the stage with Perry’s Total Rush Hyster teammate Ruth Corset (Qld) in fourth. Spring has sprung and the Subaru National Road Series basked in all its glory in the Surf Coast Shire today, as the 2015 Amy’s Otway Tour got underway with a criterium in front of huge crowds on Mountjoy Parade in Lorne.
