Yesterday Chloe Moran picked up the win in CSA 2017 Super Series Round 1!

Our very own Ruby Roseman-Gannon took on the annual Uni Games this week in the picturesque locations of Murwillumbah in Northern NSW and Nerang on the Gold Coast.

Featuring a two-up team TT, an individual TT, a road race and a final criterium, it was definitely going to be a tough few days. Especially considering most of NSW and Queensland was caught in the grips of an early heatwave.

In an amazing show of strength and class, Ruby took out 3 of the 4 events in this years series, only narrowly being beaten in the teams TT by a few seconds.

With track season coming up, Ruby is now looking to take her stellar form to the velodrome and we look forward to seeing her results in the upcoming carnivals. Good luck Ruby!

Lightning struck twice at Amy’s Otway Tour, as Rebecca Wiasak took out Stage 2 of the 2017 edition, to emulate her achievements of one year ago.

With multiple cards to play going into the final stage it was a team effort, as Jess Pratt made the early break with Kate Perry, allowing overnight leader Wiasak and teammate Lucy Kennedy to control the race from the peloton.

After establishing a break of over two minutes, the duo of Pratt and Perry pushed on, but it wasn’t to be, as the pair were caught on the Skenes Creek descent. This set up a fast and furious final 30 kilometres as the peloton powered towards Lorne.

Using all of her experience, Kennedy attacked inside the final five kilometres, setting the stage for Wiasak, led out by Ruby Roseman-Gannon, to storm through and take her second stage win in two days, and seal the General Classification win for the second year in succession.

‘It was a dream weekend, winning both stages and the overall for the second year. I have some really special memories from Lorne. It's almost like a home Tour for me coming from Geelong. I had my Dad come out to watch the Crit last night and my fiancé Ben was racing in the men's NRS event so it's nice to have family support. We spent some time in Geelong after King Valley three weeks ago to do some course recon down in Lorne. I was a bit underdone at Tour of the King Valley and put in a couple of big weeks of training to target this event. It suits me really well.

‘This is the third consecutive year the High5 Dream Team has won the overall. I've been a part of all three and the team was incredible again today to help me take a second win and the individual classification. The team did a stellar job with only four riders, and two being protected, so Jess and Ruby were impressive in controlling the race. Jess took some pressure off me today, following a move early on the first climb which stayed away for half the race, and Ruby did a killer lead-out taking me to 200m from the line. It was a special win knowing the team had all contributed, and to top it off I got to share the podium with Lucy who retained her second overall.

‘Thanks to the Amy Gillett Foundation for continuing to showcase women's cycling.

‘I'm really looking forward to continuing the momentum at Battle on the Border next weekend’, said Wiasak.

After returning to the winner's circle at Amy’s Otway Tour, the High5 Dream Team will look to continue their run of form at Battle Recharge, kicking off on Saturday 23 September. ... See more

High5 Dream Team Go 1-2 On Amy’s Otway Tour Stage 1

In a show of dominance, the High5 Dream Team have gone 1-2 on Stage 1 of Amy’s Otway Tour, with Rebecca Wiasak taking the stage win ahead of teammate Lucy Kennedy.

It was a carbon copy of the 2016 edition of Amy’s Otway Tour for Wiasak, who replicated her efforts of the previous year by launching a solo attack and holding off the peloton to take the win.

‘We wanted to win, and we had a couple of different ways we thought that could happen. Lucy obviously has come back from racing in Europe in brilliant form, winning l’Ardeche just a week ago, but I came back from America and raced at Tour of the King Valley 48 hours after getting off the plane, and Lucy had even less time so it was a bit of an unknown to see how she was going to feel, and obviously she felt brilliant, because after I attacked a bit earlier than I wanted to, she was able to break away from the field too.

‘We’ve now got two options tomorrow after going over the line 1-2 today. Last year we were in the same position when I was able to solo away in the crit.

‘When I heard Lucy was chasing me down I was confused initially, but we had our DS Kim on the sideline, and she would have told me to sit up and wait if Lucy needed the 10 second time bonus, but I think tomorrow is her day as she’s definitely got the climbing legs on!

‘It was great out there today, we had so many supporters cheering us on, and we’ve got some of our team sponsors here, so it was fantastic to be able to pull off the win and put the hands in the air for the High5 Dream Team!

The High5 Dream Team will go into the final stage looking to defend their strong general classification position, and take their first overall National Road Series race win of 2017.

Action starts at 7.30am as the peloton cover 120km around the picturesque Lorne and Great Ocean Road region.
