Jess Pratt Third On Tour of East Gippsland Stage 2

Jessica Pratt, 19, confirmed her potential today at the Tour of East Gippsland, bursting through the pack past much more experienced riders to take third in Stage 2. A tough stage had seen a number of riders eliminated but Pratt was consistently amongst the strongest, escaping on the toughest climb of the day with teammate Lucy Kennedy and four others before the peloton brought them back. After an action-packed January, the High5 Dream Team are eager to start racing again as they defend their National Road Series champions crown when the season kicks off at the Tour of East Gippsland on Saturday 18 February. With three stages across two days, the action will be frenetic as several teams look to lay down a marker in the series. Dutch star Kirsten Wild pipped Australian Chloe Hosking in a photo finish to win the 63.6km Towards Zero Race Melbourne event over 12 laps of the 5.3km Albert Park circuit.
