After early season success at the Santos Women’s Tour and Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, the High5 Dream Team return to National Road Series competition this Friday in Tasmania, with the three-day Mersey Valley Tour.

Leading the charge will be home-town here Georgia Baker, who makes her return to the road after her successful Australian team debut at the Track World Championships in London.

“I am really looking forward to racing with the High5 Dream Team for the first time this season at the Mersey Valley Tour. Racing on home soil always makes it exciting to race on familiar roads and in front of my friends and family” said Baker.

The 2016 Mersey Valley Tour consists of three stages, beginning with a time trial on Friday ahead of road races on Saturday and Sunday.

Racing from Ulverstone to Penguin, taking in the Bass Straight scenery, the 16.8km stage 1 time trial will be Georgia’s main focus.

“This tour will suit a hill climber and is known as one of the hardest tours on our Women’s National Road Series calendar. Our two road stages include Gunns Plains, Kimberley Fire Station and the Bridle Track which are some of the hardest climbs Tassie has to offer. I am targeting the track this year so my main focus will be on the stage one individual time trial.”
