Kendelle Hodges “Hoping for a successful year on the bike”

Monee Ponds resident, Kendelle Hodges has continued her rise in cycling, finishing fifth in the women’s road race at the National Championships in Buninyong on Saturday. The 23-year old won the bunch sprint for fifth over a minute down on the winner, fellow Victorian Peta Mullens. For Hodges it was a huge surprise to finish fifth after a difficult season last year with a broken collarbone. “I really surprised myself, it was a different race to previous years because of the cooler conditions and I was really pleased with my result. Former Kerang resident, Tessa Fabry has continued her rise in cycling, finishing fourth in the women’s road race at the National Championships in Buninyong on Saturday. Q: Who is Sam de Riter? A. Samantha de Riter (Sam) has a Dutch background. She began cycling at the age of 3 after spending some time racing long course triathlons. Her first coach, Stu McKenzie helped her to achieve some successful NRS results in 2013, which progressed to a scholarship with the Victorian Institute of Sport.
